I play much of the acoustic guitar you hear in the "Still Films" series using this Harmony Hollywood guitar.

The instrument was obtained as a yard sale purchase by one of the boys in the band (in the late seventies) for a mere five dollars. It changed hands over the years, and through the passage of time became battle worn and negelected. In 2005, I decided to paint it as a kind of tribute to the band of my youth- I also put together an autobiographical movie series, "The Band Years", to pay homage to my free-spirited rock n' roll days.

It was a wonderous and surreal period of my life, so I wanted to give the guitar a look and feel that would embody the excitement and majesty of that time.

I'll possibly add vintage electronics (that originally came with the Harmony guitar) to allow it to play as an electric instrument. I recall that the wiring and pick-ups had already been stripped when I first saw it, and that I, and the other band mates, always played with it acoustically. I'm quite curious to hear how it will sound (amplified), and am in the process of discussing the best type of pick-up system to install.

My brother Chuck is a guitar aficionado in his own right, and since we have recently re-united in Vancouver, WA -we have begun to develop our own line of "Fine Art Guitars". I, originally from California, moved to Washington state in March of 2007.
